Mrs Gill Case became Headmistress in 1995 but tragically after only 18 months she died. The severity and suddenness of her illness stunned the School. Under her guidance, many areas of the School had been aesthetically improved. In September 1997, Ms Penny Bristow became the new Headmistress and she continued to develop all aspects of School life.
March 1999 saw the announcement of the merger of St.Hilary's with Mount Carmel School. This amalgamation would form the new ecumenical Alderley Edge School for Girls. It was an exciting step forward for Christian Education and a good way ahead for the girls of both schools who will benefit from all the increased opportunities on offer. St. Hilary's had always laid great emphasis on developing each girls abilities, whilst giving her the maximum opportunity for the future. Each girl was recognised as an individual. <<previous |
